The purpose of a long-term financial plan (LTFP) is to guide the future direction of Council in a sustainable manner.

It is linked with Council’s objectives, goals and desired outcomes in financial terms.

The Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) is a tool to guide Council future direction, in financial terms in a sustainable manner.  Council adopted the LTFP, “in principle”, and will update the plan, as appropriate, for example, if:
• Asset Management Plans are updated
• Rating policies are changed
• Council makes specific significant fixed asset decisions
• Service levels are amended

The LTFP will be used to model options to determine the potential impact on financial sustainability, for example funding through borrowings verses reserves.
