Council provides a School Immunisation Program at St Helens, Seabrook Christian, St Marys and Fingal Schools. This program includes three groups - Kinders, Year 6 and Year 10 students.
Kinders are immunised against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Poliomyelitis, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough).
Year 6 receives Hepatitis B vaccinations (2 x injections, 1st term & 3rd term),
Year 10 are immunised against Adult Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis.

Given our population is quite small and spread out it is not viable for Council to undertake infant immunisation sessions and these are carried out by the local medical centre on a regular basis.

At times other immunisation programs are provided, such as Meningococcal.
Schools and childcare centres now require vaccination details of children attending. Non vaccinated children are not restricted access, however, in the event there is an outbreak of a disease, controlled by a vaccination program, they will not be able to attend the school or child care facility until such time as the outbreak is controlled. This period could be quite a long duration.
