

Awarding outstanding achievement in Natural Resource Management
Break O'Day is home to two species of rare and unique Velvet Worm; small creatures of our forests whose contribution is easily overlooked. The Velvet Worm Awards for Natural Resource Management recognise those in our community who have made a special contribution to the natural environment of Break O'Day.

Break O'Day Council makes these Natural Resource Management Awards for outstanding achievement in working towards the protection and enhancement of the Municipality's water, land, biodiversity, atmosphere and coastal and marine environments. There are two award categories, one for schools and the other for the community.
Nominations can now be made for the 2009 Schools Award on the form for download here and also available from Council's St Helens offices. The Award is worth $500.
