Current Exhibitions at the History Room

  • Fishing History of St Helens (Foyer display)
  • ANZAC 100 year Commemorative Exhibition ‘Conflict and Compassion’
  • "As Time Goes By" - A pictorial review of the St Helens History Room and its development from its earliest days in 1969 to the last 10 years, culminating with the opening of the new St Helens History and Visitor Information Centre in May 2006.  Also on display is the beautiful quilt, of the the same name and made by Ruth Biddell for the Stitches Exhibition in 1999.  This piece won first place and was purchased by the St Helens History Room in 2000.
  • "St Helens History Room Shell Collection" - On display in the Ward Case within the museum is our extensive Tasmanian shell collection, all catalogued with a reference folder for those busy beachcombers visiting our beautiful beaches.
