Due to the excitement that this event has inspired, we have had a lot of questions about the event. As this event evolves we will be posting as much information as possible here. We will also be sharing as much information as possible through our Facebook page so you can also keep an eye out there.

Accommodation in St Helens is selling out fast but don’t despair, we have plenty more in our neighbouring towns, St Marys, Fingal, Beaumaris, Scamander, Pyengana and Falmouth. You can also take your chances with the many FREE camping sites in our area.

Remember this is Tasmania and pretty much everything is only a couple of hours away so make sure you check out neighbouring towns as well like Bicheno, Swansea and Weldborough.

There is not much accommodation left in the area but you can find last minute deals here..
There are a lot of the free camp spots available is on the Parks and Wild Life Service managed land.
This means that the area is of environmental significance and we ask that you treat it with the respect that it deserves.

St Helens One Night Stand Over Flow Camping
Available from August 26.
Safe and secure camping in a beautiful location on a private property just 4km outside St Helens.

Buses from outlying areas
Please see below the timetable for CALOWS who will be running a service within the Break O’Day area including Binalong Bay, Ansons Bay, Four Mile Creek, Falmouth, Fingal, St Marys, Stieglitz, Akaroa, Scamander, Wrinklers Lagoon, Beaumaris and Pyengana.
*Please note there are limited buses so you will need to be at the bus stop early to avoid disappointment.
Buses within St Helens
FRANKLINS will be running a shuttle service from outside the Bendigo Bank in the main street of St Helens to the event from mid-afternoon. (They will gauge when to start the service by the number of passengers.)
They will be departing the One Night Stand from Tully Street to return to St Helens after and during the event.
Please look out for the Franklins signs inside the bus windows and on the footpath if you are wanting a shuttle to St Helens.
The cost is $5 per person per trip – Payable by cash to the bus drivers.
No bookings just be at the bus stop!
Travelling by car?
Make your One Night Stand last and take it slowly!
We want you to arrive safely in St Helens so we have placed a few cheeky road safety messages along your route whether you are coming via the Fingal Valley from Launceston or the coast road if you are coming from Hobart.
How many can you spot!
Remember take it slow darlings and drive safely! After all we are more than a One Night Stand and we’d like you to come back and see us again!
Hobart to St Helens
$40 each way
- 25 seater bus with accredited bus driver
- Departing Hobart on Sat. Sep. 1st 10 am
- Departing St Helens on September 2nd at 3pm.
- One-way transfers also available.
- Pick-up/ Drop-off on-route and to St Helens.

Traffic Management in St Helens
Council has now released some of the details around traffic management for the event and the lead up to the event.
Speed reductions on the following roads:
- St Helens township speed limit will be reduced to 40km, north of the Golden Fleece bridge;
- The speed limit will be reduced to 20km around the St Helens Sports Complex
- To support the organisers of the After Party at Tasman Highway State Growth have approved a speed reduction to 60km, 500m either side of the access point off the Tasman Highway.
These speed limit reductions will all be in place from 10am Friday to 10am Monday
On September 1st – the day of One Night Stand, Traffic controllers will be in place, coordinating traffic at the following locations:
- Cecilia Street – North end of the Golden Fleece Bridge,
- Georges Bay Esplanade,
- Medeas Cove Esplande (outside the back of the school oval),
- the intersection at Cecilia and Circassian Street,
- the intersection at Cecilia and Quail Street,
- various locations on Tully Street, Beaulieu Street, Warrens Way
- The corner of Tully Street and Tasman Highway and
- the intersection at Tasman Highway and St Helens Point Road.
Road closures include:
- Young Street from 1st September 8am – 11pm
- Georges Bay Esplanade, in front of the Bayside from 6pm Saturday 1st September – 6am Sunday 2nd September
Changed conditions include:
- Tully Street (from Young Street corner to Beaulieu Street corner) will be a one way bus lane, shuttle drop off and pick up ONLY
- Beaulieu Street and Warrens Way will be one way only.
Carparking – Off Tully Street
There will be several carparking areas provided off Tully Street, St Helens, all walking distance to the event.
Please look out for traffic controllers and signage along the way.
This will be managed by local community groups and cost $5. All proceeds will go back to our local community.
Carparking – St Helens District High School
There will be parking provided on the St Helens School oval off Medea Cove Esplanade
Parking opens at 9am and is limited so make sure you arrive early. The gates will be locked at 11pm. You must remove your car from the site before this deadline. There is no camping allowed. NO responsibility will be taken for cars or possessions left on site.
Parking fees are: $15 for vans, $10 for cars and $5 for motor bikes. Cash only.
This parking is being overseen by two local community groups, The Scamander Surf Life Saving Club and The Break O’Day Field Archery Club.
St Helens and surrounds is More than a One Night Stand and our community has organised some exciting activities and events to make sure you not only have the best One Night Stand ever, but that you want to come back!
Our youth have also set up a Facebook page where you can keep up to date with all One Night Stand related information.

At the Vineyard/Cellar door, 280 Ansons Bay Road, there will also be wine tastings along with sales. Cheese plates (featuring Bay of Fires cheeses) can also be purchased.
Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am.

Parking for chartered coaches, long term and short term, will be provided off Eagle Street, St Helens.
